BIO: Catherine Chan is a photographer and visual artist currently working for Urban Systems Ltd. as a Visual Imaging Coordinator. As the company photographer she creates and provides images for internal and external communications, as well as assisting with visual communication initiatives (www.catherinechan.ca/UrbanSystems). In her artistic practice, Catherine's work explores themes of environmental and social sustainability, the passage of time, memory, spirituality and impermanence. Prior to graduating from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 2010, Catherine received an Honours Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto in Biogeography and Physics, and a Master of Science degree at the University of Guelph in Soil Science. Her experiences in the natural sciences continue to inform her work.
